Huskies Left At Dog Park With All Their Toys And The Saddest Note
For most dogs, a trip to the dog park is heaven. They reach run around without a chain on, have fun with other dogs and go house with happy memories. However, for 2 huskies, Jada and Layla, their dog park visit ended extremely differently.
Recently, Mona Ahmed, manager of Woodward Canine Park in Fresno, California, got a phone call. A lady at the dog park had found two huskies there.
In the beginning, Ahmed didn’t panic– certainly the canines came from someone and the proprietor would certainly be back to get them. But then the woman claimed she located a box full of dog food, bowls and toys. There was likewise a note inside the box.

” Our names are Jada (black) and Layla ( brownish),” the note claimed. “We are nice 1-year-old dogs. Please do not split us up. Layla obtains scared without her sister.”
Ahmed rushed to the canine park as quickly as she could, and she found Layla and Jada wandering about, looking unfortunate and confused.
” I started asking individuals, ‘Does anyone know how long these huskies have been right here?’” Ahmed claimed. “People told me, ‘These huskies were here at 5 o’clock.’ But now it was 8 o’clock. So these huskies have been here for three hours, running in the canine park.”
One visitor provided a crucial bit of information.
” Someone said, ‘Yes, I saw [a woman] leave the huskies behind. She just told us she’s going to the vehicle, and she’ll be right back. So nobody truly paid attention to the truth that she was truly gone,’” Ahmed claimed.
Ahmed felt dreadful for Jada and Layla, but she was glad somebody had notified her. If the canines had been left at the park overnight, they could have gotten hurt.
” They can have jumped the fence and obtained hit by a vehicle,” Ahmed claimed. “There is a extremely busy roadway right in front of canine park. The speed limit is 50, but people go 65 or more.”
Unfortunately, this isn’t the very first time people abandoned dogs at Woodward Dog Park. Ahmed, who has run the dog park for 10 years, claimed that 13 other canines have been abandoned at the park, and she was left with the responsibility of saving and rehoming them.
” This makes me feel angry,” Ahmed said. “This is not the way you give dogs away. All they had to do was request help.”
While maintaining owners and animals together is constantly the best choice, there are resources for people can not maintain their pets, Rachael Lewis, manager of media and communications for the ASPCA.
” The most important thing for pet owners to recognize is that there are many services out there they can take advantage of– all they need to do is call their local pet sanctuary,” Lewis said. “Your local sanctuary can meet with you to learn more about your situation, and after that walk you via the different resources that are available to you.”
Ahmed, that also established Fresno Furry Buddies, an company that offers spay and neuter services, took Jada and Layla into her care, and placed them in a protected foster home. The huskies, who Ahmed believes are sis, hadn’t been spayed or microchipped, so she’s going to make sure this happens prior to they’re rehomed.
” We intend to find the ideal residence for the dogs,” Ahmed said. Nonetheless, she included that the dogs’ foster mommy is falling in love with them, so they may have already found their residence.
” She is extremely interested in keeping them,” Ahmed claimed. “In a couple of days, I’ll go and do a house check and everything else.”
In the meantime, the foster mom takes Jada and Layla to the dog park every day– and she always brings them home with pleased memories.
