Heartbroken And In Labor, She Crawls Into A Horrible Backyard To Give Birth
Life for roaming dogs is full of constant challenges, challenges that increase much more when they try to give birth in a refuge to protect their young.
This is the story of Lexus, a pit bull dog who for a very long time wandered from one location to another exposing not only the dangers that the street itself offers, but also the apathy of many people that from a range were unaware that it was living that required assistance.
Lexus was very scared, for the first couple of minutes she avoided contact with her rescuers.
Thankfully, there are even more of us great and her luck altered after a family was alerted to hearing her cry all night after going into labor.
The family chose to call the Hope For Paws rescue group who rapidly arrived to provide her all the help this wonderful mother required.
Little by little the rescuers managed to get her trust.
In despair, she had actually crawled right into a ramshackle yard to give birth to her cubs.
When rescuers showed up Lexus was scared and tried to leave. However, the neighbors came together and made sure it stayed within the home’s specifications by creating makeshift fences.
She was weak, a strong pain in her tummy prevented her from feeding her young well.
After a short chase they managed to catch her and put her in a safe place, after that the rescuers proceeded to look for the puppies, the scene was much more heartbreaking, a lot of pups were lying on the ground.
Unfortunately, among them had died, the others were fighting for their lives.
The dog at first did not trust her rescuers, after a couple of mins she realized that they were there to help her and the pups, little by little she gave in to their charms.
When she was moved to the Lexus shelter, she was nursing her young when something unexpected happened, she really felt a sharp pain in her tummy and weeping was once again inevitable.
For a long time the wonderful canine ate trash waste.
The vet chose to X-ray her where it was revealed that she had a metal lid lodged in her stomach. It is believed that the dog had actually eaten waste from the trash to hide her hunger.
