A test at the veterinarian’s exposed that Arbuckle was experiencing hypothyroidism, which was the reason why his body expanded like a balloon. Arbuckle was rendered immobile due to his painful joints, so his initial therapy was based on medicines alone. In time, he got leaner and was able to go on walks again!

When Arbuckle began losing weight, there was no going back for him. During this moment, actress Jane Lynch and her partner learned about Arbuckle and chose to adopt him. Update: We are left saddened after hearing that Arbuckle recently died. He was 9 years old. After his fatality, the shelter received a whopping $5000 in donations overnight, all from individuals who cheered on Arbuckle and wished to celebrate his inspiring life.
