Goran is a true animal lover who has dedicated his time and resources to help stray animals in his community. Out of his own pocket, he feeds over 100 stray dogs, a labor of love that he cherishes dearly. In his own words, “I save animals that are endangered, that live on the street. I take care of animals because I love them.” He ensures that abandoned animals on the streets, without owners or access to food from humans, are well taken care of.
However, among all the animals Goran has rescued, there is one remarkable story that stands out. Last March, he came across a tiny puppy all by herself, fending for survival with nothing but an old shoe as shelter.
Goran found the puppy amidst a pile of trash, drawn to her cries for help. Determined to make a difference, he offered her some food and named her Coco. As he observed no sign of a mother or other puppies around, he realized that Coco’s chances of survival were bleak in the harsh elements with just an old shoe for warmth.
Driven by compassion, Goran made the decision to help Coco, and she gladly accepted his assistance. Exhausted and aware that this kind human might be her only chance, Coco laid down and surrendered to fate.
Goran soon discovered that Coco had a bright and cheerful personality and was good with people. He took it upon himself to find her a forever home by sharing her story on social media. Efforts bore fruit, as adoption requests poured in and he found the perfect family for Coco in Germany.
He keeps in touch with the family and receives regular updates and pictures of Coco, showcasing her growth and transformation since last year. Goran is overjoyed to see Coco traveling with her new family, enjoying a happier and more secure life.
While Coco’s story has a happy ending, Goran’s mission is far from over. He is committed to caring for as many strays as possible and hopes that they too find loving homes, just like Coco. As he puts it, “Every rescued dog from the street who finds a home is a victory for me.”
