Cats make excellent companion animals. Unless they fall seriously ill, they’re not overly expensive to keep as pets, either, and they can be just as affectionate and expressive as dogs — well, some of them can be. Yes, they’re known for their independence and sometimes even ‘tude, but others are downright clingy, following their people everywhere, including the bathroom.
And then there’s 3-year-old Oliver who conveniently falls somewhere in between. Currently being fostered in southern Arizona, Oliver is described as being a big, playful oaf of a boy. He loves head scratches, cuddles, and pets, but mostly this dude wants to play, play, play! For him, kick stick toys are his favorite form of entertainment, as they provide the most interaction for this silly clown.
Oliver also wants to constantly run and climb things, and it does not take much (as little as throwing a toy his way) to get him to exercise his special kitty skills of frantically kicking and playing. A multi-story cat tree is an absolute must for his future forever home.
Oliver is patient and playful with fellow kitties and would be a great older brother or pal to a kitten or teen cat. He certainly has enough “oomph” to keep up! If you’re wondering about his disposition around canines and children, it’s believed that he can adapt to respectful dogs and kids with proper introductions.
Oliver is a handsome tuxedo kitty who has been neutered, is current on his vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. He is also house-trained and has no special needs. If this fun, sweet boy could be the purrfect addition to your family, or you know of someone who can’t live without him, please fill out an adoption application on the Southern Arizona Cat Rescue website.
If you have questions before moving forward, you can contact the rescue at (520) 200-1643 or email them at adoption@sacatrescue.org. Finally, please consider sharing Oliver’s story with as many people as you can to help reduce the amount of time he is without a loving forever home to blossom in.
