Self-Proclaimed “Dog Person” Falls In Love With Three-Legged Rescue Kitten

“Are you a dog person or a cat person?” It’s a typical question asked among animal lovers. Personally, I’ve never liked the question much, myself. I like dogs and cats for different reasons and find it hard to choose one over the other.

Some people are die-hard “cat people” or “dog people” though, including a man from Boston, BA. He may have started as a dog person, but after meeting a tiny kitten named Mochi, his heart melted.

According to GeoBeats Animals, Mochi’s owner said that he wasn’t really sure about adopting a cat at first. He said, “I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into with a cat. You know, stereotypes that they’re cold and distant.”

On Instagram, Mochi’s owner shared that she was originally from China and “unfortunately lost a leg, both ears, and her tail after what they suspect was a bad reaction to a foreign vaccine.”

After being purchased by a family in Boston, Mochi made the journey from China to the U.S., but she didn’t stay with her new family for long. Once she started developing health issues, Mochi’s family dumped her at the MSPCA in Boston.

According to GeoBeats Animals, it took the shelter some two months to nurse Mochi back to health before she was ready to find a proper family.

On January 20th, the MSPCA announced the sweet kitten’s adoption to the world. They wrote on Facebook: “We’re thrilled to announce that Dollie has been been adopted!”

Mochi’s new owner didn’t fully realize the extent a cat could bond and love its human. Speaking with GeoBeats Animals, her new dad said: “It was pretty incredible how quickly she bonded with us.”

He may have been a self-proclaimed dog person going into the adoption, but now he’s a full-blown cat dad!
