An adorable rescue cat has found a way to use “kickies” to communicate with his owner and it’s too cute!
In an interview with The Dodo, Alison, the cat’s owner, said, “Butters expresses pretty much everything through his little kickies.”
She added that he has different kicks for different things and she’s learned to tell them apart. She said, “He has his breakfast kickies and his supper kickies…He also has ‘pick me up’ kicks.”
Butters doesn’t have any sense of coordination or balance due to being born with cerebellar hypoplasia. According to the Blue Pearl Pet Hospital, is a “neurological disorder that causes sudden jerky movements, uncoordinated motion and loss of balance.” Unfortunately, many cats born with the condition end up euthanized as they can require a lot of work and accommodation to live a full life.
Thankfully, Butters is not in pain and is able to live a fulfilling and rich life thanks to Alison.
While he can’t really get around on his own four paws by himself, Alison got him fitted for a wheelchair of sorts that allows him to get from place to place with relative ease.
She fostered him through Team Cat Rescue from the time he was just 10 weeks old. After an entire year together, Alison realized that she didn’t want to see Butters go with anyone else and she officially welcomed him into the family.
While Butters will never be able to walk, run, and jump like most cats, he’s really something special and the bond he shares with Alison is unmatched. Plus, his adorable foot kickies are too cute to handle!
