A cat born with malformed legs has found a forever home and a growing fan base thanks to his unusual leg deformities.
Aries was born to a cat at a rural shelter and because of his deformities, he was lucky to survive at all.
According to American Humane, an estimated 71 percent of cats that enter animal shelters are euthanized (including kittens).
Being a deformed kitten born into a rural kill-shelter is a likely path to being euthanized, but Aries got a lucky break when he was taken in by a local animal rescue.
According to a video report by Newsner’s We Love Animals, Aries ended up being fostered by an avid animal foster mom named Tracey.
Tracey offered Aries all the love and support he needed to grow and flourish, despite his deformities. His legs were bent and curved, but he learned to walk and run and even gained a lot of strength!
He wasn’t able to get surgery to correct his legs but he doesn’t seem too bothered by his deformities. He does, however, look just like a giant spider when he’s running about the house. Because of the way his legs bend, he resembles a furry arachnid.
Tracey didn’t want to risk having Aries placed into a home that wouldn’t properly care for him or cater to his needs, so she ended up adopting him herself!
Foster fails are the best kind of failure.
