Meet Jasper Blu.
The one-year-old Russian Blue cat has had a rough start to life and deserves a second chance to find a loving home. The poor fella was found on the steps of a church in Arkansas with two severely broken hind legs and a gunshot wound in his rear end.
Community Cats Global rushed him to a local animal hospital who started him on pain meds as they examined and treated his wound. He was abused by a cruel person and left to suffer. “The vet felt like his leg injuries were a result of a baseball bat strike to his back end area,” shared the rescue.
While they are infuriated with the monster who did this to Jasper Blu, they are focusing on helping him heal and showing him that not all humans are bad.
Even through all the pain, Jasper Blu remains a sweet and gentle feline. His road to recovery will be long and expensive. He will need surgery to place plates and/or pins in each back leg and then months of rehabilitation before he will be able to walk again.
The rescue reached out to Greater Good Charities’ Emergency Animal Medical fund to help cover his medical bills. Every day injured or sick animals arrive at shelters in need of medical care. Shelters are unable to afford medical care on top of the cost of feeding all the pets in their care. Thanks to your continued support, we are able to help save Jasper Blu and countless other shelter pets like him.
Jasper Blu’s prognosis is good thanks to his overall health and young age. He may have a slight limp or hitch to his gait, but this won’t stop him from living his best life and finding the right home. He enjoys the company of other cats and humans.
Pets receiving critical care facilitated by an Emergency Animal Medical grant may not be eligible for adoption until they have completed their course of treatment. If you would like to inquire about adoption of a specific animal, we strongly encourage you to visit the shelter’s specific website first as that is often the most up to date place to learn about available pets and review the adoption policies and process. Check out the shelter’s website to see all adoptable pets.
Help us meet our goal of $6,000 for Jasper Blu. Your gift will not only give him the hope to keep fighting, but your donations will help cover his ongoing care.
